LDANZ Teachers

LDANZ Registered LD Teachers are:

Individual members of LDANZ.
Trained and experienced classroom teachers who, in addition to a New Zealand teaching qualification, have successfully passed an LDANZ-approved course for the teaching of those with a specific learning disability. An approved practical component and supervised practice are required.
Required to abide by the professional Code of Ethics of the New Zealand Teachers’ Council.
Required to undertake documented continuing professional development to maintain LDANZ registration status.
Police vetted.
The teaching programme for students are individualised to target identified needs.

LDANZ's specialised intervention is based on either the recommendations of an assessor’s Woodcock-Johnson IV report and/or the results of an initial learning needs assessment, conducted by one of our teachers, against which progress is monitored and evaluated. A Woodcock-Johnson 4 psycho-educational battery of tests could be recommended by the LDANZ teacher.
