Become an LDANZ Teacher
LDANZ Teachers are:
Individual members of LDANZ.
Trained and experienced classroom teachers who, in addition to a New Zealand teaching qualification, have successfully passed an LDANZ-approved course for the teaching of those with a specific learning disability. An approved practical component and supervised practice are required.
Required to abide by the professional Code of Ethics of the New Zealand Teachers’ Council.
Required to undertake documented continuing professional development.
Police vetted.
The teaching programme for students is specifically tailored to each individual’s identified needs.
Teacher membership is available only to qualified learning disability teachers who have completed the necessary training and are pursuing ongoing professional development.
Teacher Membership has an initial registration fee of $120. Registration is renewed annually.
Prospective teachers who have experience and qualifications, but who have not been an NZ-registered teacher, may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
