Registered Teachers
LDANZ Registered LD Teachers are
Individual members of LDANZ.
Trained and experienced classroom teachers, who in addition to a New Zealand teaching qualification, have successfully passed an LDANZ approved course for the teaching of those with a specific learning disability. An approved practical component and supervised practice is required. Click here for a document with fuller details.
Required to abide by the professional Code of Ethics of the New Zealand Teachers’ Council.
Required to undertake documented continuing professional development.
Police vetted
The teaching programme for students is specifically tailored to each individual’s identified needs.
LDANZ specialised intervention is based on either the recommendations of an assessor’s Woodcock Johnson 4 report OR the results of an initial learning needs assessment, conducted by one of our teachers, against which progress is monitored and evaluated. A Woodcock Johnson 4 psycho-educational battery of tests could be recommended by the LDANZ teacher.
